_________________________________________________________________ ***** ISDC-News 13-OCT-2004 ***** _________________________________________________________________ INTEGRAL Data Archive ===================== On October 18, all public INTEGRAL data will be available both in the older and in the revised format of the archive. The new "Archive Revision 2" format is now the default on the Archive Browse WWW page at: http://isdc.unige.ch/index.cgi?Data+browse Version 4.x of the Off-line Scientific Analysis (OSA) is working with both types of data. The main differences between the old and the revised data format are: 1. a simplified directory and file structure 2. the availability of event time stamps in Julian Dates (JD) instead of On-Board Time (OBT), with corrected energies, standard good time intervals (GTI) and deadtime in the Science Window datasets 3. the adoption of the standard OGIP format for event files making the timing analysis with FTOOLS much easier 4. the correction of all JD time stamps for the offsets between the OBT of each instrument (NB: the OBT values themselves are not corrected) 5. the implementation of some attitude handling optimization Item 2. means that the data correction step, as well as the instrumental GTI and deadtime handling is already performed at the science window level for the revised data. This allows to speed up the scientific analysis at least for IBIS and JEM-X as it is no more needed to redo the COR, GTI and DEAD levels, but you can directly start your analysis at the BIN_I level for IBIS and at the CAT_I level for JEM-X. For the SPI and OMC instruments, the starting levels are still CAT_I and COR, respectively.
