LCR level: j_src_extract_lc

j_src_extract_lc extracts energy-binned light curves for each found point source in the FOV. Background subtraction is an integral part of the data extraction.

Since OSA v11.0 the user has the choice to use either the ``old'' lightcurve extraction tool (j_src_lc described here below), or to make use of the new functionality of j_ima_iros. This new approach has the advantage of taking into account the detailed modeling of the instrument response. In addition, the user can request all the iros-lightcurves to be searched for burst activity (parameter LCR_doBurstSearch). If a significant burst is detected (a flux excursion actually, not necessarily a true X-ray or gamma-ray burst!) information about the burst will be indicated in the log file and in the flag word of the user catalog. When the burst search is requested not only the individual source light curve are searched, but also the detector light curve. This may be used in searches for bursts from unknown burst sources. This feature is still experimental and will produce files that are not attached to og_group. We recommend a careful use of it.
