The periods during which the spacecraft attitude can be considered as constant for SPI analysis, i.e., the pointings, are defined and their start/stop times are stored in a pointing file (pointing.fits) together with SPI attitude information. By default, no parameters need to be specified for this task. The executable spi_obs_point defines time intervals with stable attitude during the observation.
