How to use CaOs?

To be able to correct for the movements of the PMT-Camera, the Camera Oscillation Monitor should run while datataking.

Steps to follow, when you want to take CaOs-data:
1) switch on the LEDs
--> power the remote control
--> switch on the power of the LEDs
2) In the starguider window:
--> switch on the CaOs-Filter (-> Display -> CaosFilter)
--> switch to the CaOs-Camera: the CaOs camera is the less sensitive videocamera - if anybody has changed anything it should be Channel 2
(-> Display -> Input -> Channel #2)
--> swith off Interpolation: to see, if there are oscillations, we need a high resolution in time, therefore we should not interpolate any pictures.
(-> Setup -> Disp. Interpolation -> Off)
3) Dim the Leds:
the brightness of the Leds should be such, that the CaOs-Filter detects all 6 Leds, but the Led-spots shouldn't be too big in the picture.
To get this a good way is: dimming the Leds such, that one Led isn't recognised anymore by the software and then go up one step in brightness again.
When a led is recognised by the software, it is marked with a white cross.
Examples: brightness ok, LEDs much too bright
4) Writing Caos-Files: (the CaOs-Menu apears only, if the CaOs-Filter is switched on)
In the beginning of datataking: -> CaOs -> Write -> Start
At the end of datataking: -> CaOs -> Write -> Stop
5) after data-taking:
--> switch off the power of the LEDs
--> switch of the remote control
(! this is the other way round than when switching on everything!)
