Contributed Scripts

This page lists useful scripts in addition to the OSA package for analysing INTEGRAL data. They are written by the INTEGRAL users and shared among the community.

Please note that the ISDC is providing this service to the INTEGRAL users, but cannot systematicly check the completeness and the quality of the contributed scripts. It is therefore the responsibility of the script authors to make sure that their script is widely useable outside of their own hardware/software environment.

To add a script in the list below, please go to the Script Submission page.
To correct errors in the settings, exchange or remove a script, please contact the webmaster.

scw_sel (C)
scw_sel-0.2.tar.gz [ 5.1 kB ]
0.2
(2004-11-25)
Peter Kretschmar
(ISDC)
ALL
(n/a)
This C executable selects Science Windows around a given position from a Science Window Index. Mostly useful if one maintains large Index groups of accesible Science Windows. Can bes installed like a standard ISDC tool.
spe_collect (C)
spe_collect-1.0.0.tar.gz [ 18.7 kB ]
1.0.0
(2004-11-25)
Peter Kretschmar
(ISDC)
JEM-X
(BIN_S)
Collects JEM-X detector (not source!) spectra into an overall table in PHA II format. Restricted to Full Imaging data currently. Mainly useful for calibration studies.
spextract (Perl)
spextract.tar.gz [ 3.8 kB ]
1.0
(2004-12-15)
Masha Chernyakova
(ISDC)
ISGRI
(IMA)
Creates an ISGRI source spectrum from a bunch of isgri_sky_ima.fits files (method recommended for the faint sources).
spextract_pics (Perl)
spextract_pics.tar.gz [ 3.9 kB ]
2.0
(2007-01-11)
Masha Chernyakova
(ISDC)
PICsIT
(IMA2)
Creates a PICsIT source spectrum from a bunch of picsit_ima.fits files. Version 2.0 is the updated version for OSA 6.0 and creates a spectrum to be used with pics_srmf_grp_0003.fits.
easy_scw_analysis (cshell)
easy_scw_analysis.tar.gz [ 9.6 kB ]
1.0
(2005-04-07)
Ken Ebisawa
(INTEGRAL Guest Observer Facility, NASA/GSFC)
ISGRI and JEM-X
(DEAD [rev_2 events file])
These two simple cshell scripts access rev_2 format event file of a single ScW directly (e.g., og_create is not required), call minimum sets of the ISDC tools and ftools, extract images and spectra. Should give the identical results as ibis_science_analysis and jemx_science_analysis executed on a single Science Window. See http://lheawww.gsfc.nasa.gov/~ebisawa/integral_analysis.html for an example of how to use these scripts.
find_future_plan (Perl)
find_future_plan.tar.gz [ 5.2 kB ]
2.0
(2005-04-08)
Ken Ebisawa
(INTEGRAL GOF, NASA/GSFC)
ALL
(n/a)
A perl script to obtain a future (or past) plan from ISOC, and print out revolutions or Science Windows which are within certain distances from the specified targets.
addjemx (Perl)
addjemx.tar.gz [ 4.5 kB ]
1.0
(2005-04-08)
Ken Ebisawa
(INTEGRAL GOF/NASA,GSFC)
JEM-X
(SPE)
Includes addjemxlc and addjemxspec to combine light curves or spectra, respectively, from many science windows. ftools is assumed to be installed.
cat2ds9 (perl)
cat2ds9.tar.gz [ 0.8 kB ]
1.0
(2005-06-01)
Ken Ebisawa
(INTEGRAL GOF, NASA/GSFC)
all
(n/a)
Creates a ds9 format region file from the ISDC reference catalog. Basically do the same thing as "cat2ds9" ISDC tool, if you have OSA available. On the other hand, cat2ds9.pl (only) requires "fdump" in the ftools package.
ima_pick (Perl)
ima_pick-1.03.tar.gz [ 7.9 kB ]
1.03
(2005-11-25)
M. Gaber, A. Paizis
(ISDC-Geneva, IASF-Milano)
ISGRI
(IMA)
Extracts the results from the ISGRI IMA analysis part and saves them in isgri.source.dat ASCII files. Each ASCII file is for one source and it contains the results of the science window by science window imaging step.
make_isdc_cat (C++)
make_isdc_cat-1.7.tar.gz [ 28.9 kB ]
1.7
(2005-10-12)
Ken Ebisawa, Arash Bodaghee
(ISDC, Geneva Observatory)
ALL
(n/a)
This C executable creates the FITS-based ISDC General Reference Catalog from an input ascii file with a certain format (see make_isdc_cat.txt). It can also add sources from an input ascii file to an existing FITS catalog.
